How will you manage Low Back pain at home?

Self care methods are helpful for the first 72 hours after the pain has started. If the pain doesn’t get better within 72 hours then you should definitely see a doctor. Stop all sorts of normal physical activity for a couple of days and apply ice in the lower back area for the first 48 hours and then switch to heat. Also RICE protocol is recommended (rest, ice, compression, elevation). Take counter pain medications like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB), or acetaminophen (Tylenol), to relieve pain.

Sometimes lying on your back causes more discomfort, try lying on your side with your knees bent and a pillow between your legs. If you can lie comfortably on your back, place a pillow or rolled-up towel beneath your thighs to reduce the pressure on the lower back.
